A Bunch of Random

I intended to upload those photos from the pumpkin patch today, but for some reason my camera is nowhere to be found. I found the case for it, but not the camera! I'm freaking out just a tad because I still have SO many photos on it that haven't been uploaded on my computer or developed. I'm just hoping I didn't lose it for good. When I find it (because I WILL find it dang it!) I will upload those pictures that I have been promising all week. I'm starting to think this blog is a fail attempt. I got it to document Kyla's life (and for another reason why that will be explained later on down the road) but I can't find time to do it! I'm really hoping to get better at it.

Well since their isn't going to be pictures like planned, I will just give some random information. Her blood tests results came back fine! No signs of anemia and her vitamin levels are where they should be. That was a huge load lifted off my shoulders. She is also eating now. Eating like a normal child!! Which she hasn't done since she turned one. Her little 'phase' lasted a whole entire year. I am just hoping it's gone for good. We are also taking her to get her pictures taken professionally for Christmas and we are going to use those pictures for our Christmas cards. This will be my first time doing this so I am pretty excited! Last year, I took her Christmas pictures myself and just put them in a Christmas card (ya know those stupid store bought ones). I can't say I didn't like how the pictures came out because I did, but they weren't "professional".  Her little personality really came out in the pictures which I thought was great, but the quality of the photo's wasn't good. I just have a lil ol digital camera cut my some slack! So I'm hoping this year the pictures will be of great quality while still keeping her personality in the pictures. A lot of people we send the cards out to live elsewhere and can't see her every day and see her little personality blossom. That brings another question to my mind that I have been debating. Should I open this blog up to family? Will I regret it? This blog is new so I don't think any of my family knows it exists. Should I tell them so they can see the updates on Kyla's life? I read mixed opinions on it on peoples blogs so I would love any and all opinions on it! Thanks!

That is all for now. Kyla's great grandma's birthday is tomorrow so I need to figure out what we're buying her. Yes it is tomorrow and I still have yet to buy anything. So pathetic!

Nervous wreck!

I'm pretty sure I promised pictures today, but those will have to wait. First off, I'm a nervous wreck (explain soon) and second off, my camera is not within reach and I am too lazy to go get it to upload photos. That's a good excuse right? We did go to the pumpkin patch yesterday and she had a good time! I think her favorite thing was playing golf with the gourds. I got about a million pictures of that. I'm pretty sure she is going to a golfer like her daddy. We ended up going with my mom and brother so she was happy to spend time with her Mimi and uncle. After that we out to eat at BK and she ate FOUR chicken nuggets. May not seem like a lot to all of you, but let me say my daughters idea of 'eating' this past year is one chicken nugget for an entire day. I'm excited to know that maybe, just maybe she is going to actually eat like a normal child! Phew! We then went to her great grandma and grandpa's to visit for a while, but she slept most of the time. I guess the pumpkin patch really wore her out. Then we went back to my mom's house so Kyla could carve her pumpkin that she picked out. I got a few pictures of that, but she really wasn't having it. She would much rather play with the kitty. All in all it was a good, busy day.

Now what I'm a nervous wreck about.. today we have to take her up to the hospital for blood work. Not just a prick on the finger blood work, I'm talking full on needle in the vein blood work. Yikes! Maybe I am retarded but I didn't know they did that! Her little veins are so so so tiny. I knew they do it for little babies that are sick in the nicu, but my little baby that needs "routine" blood work. WTF? I didn't know blood work for a two year old was "routine". Come to find out, it's really not. Since she hasn't been eating correctly this past year they need to check her vitamin levels to make sure they are where they are supposed to be. :( So this mommy is a nervous wreck! I am so scared for her. I know I am being a tad dramatic, but that's my job, right?! I HATE blood work, so how can I expect her to enjoy it. Yikes! Tyler and I have come to the conclusion that she is getting a toy after it's all said and done. I don't care how big this toy is she deserves it!

Okay enough rambling. If you kept up with this crazy, pathetic blog post then congratulations! I will update on how it all went and will (hopefully) have pictures from the pumpkin patch up tomorrow.

Pictures.

The first picture is from her birthday! She called that her 'princes outfit'. All the other ones are from a parade we went to. She loved it. She has been talking about the firetrucks ever since. I have a ton more photos from her birthday, but I am horrible at uploading them from my camera to the computer. We are going to the pumpkin patch on Sunday so I will have an update on how that goes. This will be our first time going. I'm just hoping she enjoys it as much as I think she will. Well Enjoy!

Two Year Post.

Kyla had her doctor appointment and is doing great!! She is finally gaining weight correctly (woohoo!). She weighs around 26lbs (25th percentile) and is 35 1/2 inch long (90th) percentile. She is doing everything she should be doing plus more. We have to take her to the hospital next week sometime to get blood work done to check her vitamin levels since she is such a picky eater. They just want to make sure she is getting enough vitamins and everything. Her blood is being drawn from the arm though :( My poor baby. I will be a wreck that day and since Ty is on midnights next week I am going to do it then so he can be there. No way I can do that by myself! As for what kyla is wearing she is in size 4 diapers. We recently just had to start her a new kind of diaper because she started breaking out from the pampers cruisers. This girl breaks out from every.single.diaper! It's so frustrating. As of now, we are using pampers swaddlers sensitive and their working good so far! Cross your fingers!! She is in 24 month pants and 2t shirts and some 3t shirts. Most of the winter stuff I bought 3t so it will fit her the whole time and I don't have to worry about buying more like I've had to do every single season. Her pants fit her great length wise, but always fall down. Belts are her best friend! :) She talks up a storm (of course) and says sentences. She is learning to count and her colors. She knows all of her animals and she knows her shapes. Her favorite thing to do is color/draw and read. She loves books! I still need to invest in a bookshelf. Gotta scram! Hard to do a blog update with an awake, impatient two year old :) Hopefully I will have pictures of soon!

Birthday Post

When I made this blog I was hoping I would write something every day. Or even every other day, but neither one of those has happened. I guess I forgot what a busy couple of weeks I would have in front of me. Tomorrow we plan on going to an indoor water park for Kyla's second birthday. I am so excited! I know she is going to have such a blast. I've been trying to get everything ready for that, but it's friday morning and I don't have a single thing packed. Go me! We did get her birthday outfit and her presents (pictures below). We also bought her dora shoes, but I guess that was more for me than her! :) Lately when she gets into the car she takes off her shoes and unlaces the stinken things! I didn't want to stand outside the car in the cold lacing up her dang shoes so these ones are velcro! They have dora on them though she she will love them and she is obsessed with shoes so that also helps this 'present' be for her also. I'm hoping I remember to take lots of pictures so I can post them on here. She won't be getting the kitchen till her actual birthday which is the 15th though. I am so anxious I can hardly wait. Well Kyla is being cranky and I have to start getting motivated so I can get everything finished so I will write again Monday (hopefully) and have pictures of the weekend :)
The kitchen set we got Kyla for her birthday.

She started wanting to always feed a baby doll so I know she will love this!

She always wanted to play with this in the store so I figured I would get it for her birthday!

I also got her a cash register that she wouldn't let go of in toys r us. I know.. spoiled, but it's okay! I don't mind (yet).

Lazy Day.

After a very hectic night last night, I was looking forward to just relaxing today. Well Kyla slept in till 8 and when I went in to get her her nose was all stuffy! Of course she would get the cold I just got right? I mean what sense would that make if she didn't. Then I felt bad because she probably had such a hard time breathing during the night. If I would have known I would have hooked up the humidifier thing (that's what that is called, correct?) Gosh I can't even remember. That is the cold kicking my butt! So like it or not today is definitely going to be a lazy one. Hopefully she starts feeling better (and me too) and hopefully this weather gets nice. Who has any energy to do anything when it's so dreary out.. Hence the two full baskets of towels that need folded and the dishes that need done. Oops!

Kyla's birthday is coming up soon! So I have been looking at toys to get her. If anyone knows of any good toys for a two year old PLEASE tell me! She loves to learn and catches on quickly so I really want to get her some learning toys. Plus, her toys are definitely getting old and boring. She needs some new ones! So any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Well I am going to cut this off short so I can snuggle with my poor sick child.

Let's Get Started...

I'm just going to do a small 'About Me' post. My name is Mandy and I am 20 years old. I have an (almost) 2 year old daughter, Kyla, and a fiance (21), Tyler. Parenthood came a little sooner for us, but we made the best of it. We are now about to take the plunge into the terrible two's (Wish us luck!!) and marriage! I figured I would make a blog so I can document Kyla's life, because let's face it.. if it wasn't for pictures I wouldn't remember anything that happened these past two years. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask! That is all for now.

P.S. Please be patient with me while I get all of this set up. Thank you! :)
